The Drama A Cappella Group, founded in 2024, is a community-based vocal ensemble located in the Madison, WI area. We operate in “seasons” to keep our music preparation, part assignments, and event planning organized and intentional. Membership in The Drama is by audition, and once you’re in, you’re welcome to stay with the group indefinitely.

 

We have flexibility with our seasonal schedule: members may take off the winter season (October–mid-December), and may also take off the spring/summer season as long as their voice part remains well-covered. Members may not take off back-to-back sessions. All members get a break for the month of September and the month of January where we have optional participation for things like auditions and season planning.

To help the group run smoothly, we have a seasonal membership fee: $20 for the winter season and $60 for the spring/summer season.

Rehearsal Expectations

We rehearse weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30–8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Oregon, WI (with occasional Tuesdays off for holidays or breaks).

Members are expected to:

• Attend at least 80% of rehearsals (about one absence every other month).

• Practice their music outside of rehearsal — since we meet only once a week, individual practice is essential.

• Use the provided rehearsal tracks and participate in sectional meet-ups as needed.
